When and Why did you start at Heart Mountain Fitness?
I started in January 2014. Before I started my knees
hurt and I started thinking about 20 years in the future.
My son got me started, he told me to ‘ just go this once’.
It’s easier to start if you have someone to go with... I
started with my sister. That first day, we headed toward
the gym, then we started talking about just going up to
the Rec Center to walk instead of coming to class.
But we made the turn to the Gym.
Which class time do you attend?
8:30 Monday Wednesday Friday
What was your first impression of the Gym?
The way Amy comes across… she doesn’t seem overwhelming. She makes you realize you can do what she puts on us.
How has your training at Heart Mountain Fitness impacted your life outside of the Gym?
A lot! It makes me feel like I can do most anything,. Hiking… Just feel able–you know you can do it. I went skiing again this year, no problem. After I started, I lost 22 pounds and kept it off!
What is the worst habit you have that you’ve changed?
I quit drinking pop the day I started at the Gym, and I’m drinking way more water… on workout days and even off days.
What advice would you give someone new?
Once you start – make it part of your week.
Outside the gym, what are your Activities / Hobbies?
I help out on the farm. Yardwork. Skiing. Being active. I like to be outdoors.
Do you have a personal Mantra?
‘Rest through the work’ It gives your mind a break.
What kind of music do you work out to?
When I get into the workout, I don’t really know what’s playing. I don’t focus on it.
